The Cost of IVF at Genea Newcastle

There are many factors to consider when choosing the right fertility clinic. The cost of your IVF treatment is likely to be one of those factors. Not all clinics are created equal.

At Genea Newcastle, we rely on world leading technology to minimise the number of cycles you must undergo in order to achieve a healthy pregnancy. We aim to conduct a single egg and sperm collection from a single stimulated cycle and create enough embryos, so you do not have to undergo multiple egg collections.

Government IVF Rebate

IMPORTANT & EXCITING NEWS

As part of its 2022/23 Budget, the NSW Government has announced a one-off $2000 rebate for up to 12,000 NSW women to use for fertility treatments delivered by private clinics such as Genea. The rebate scheme is part of an $80 million package aimed at increasing access to fertility services across the state. We’ve put together some FAQ’s about the rebate package including when and how to claim it.

WHO CAN CLAIM?

The rebate is open to NSW residents only, however if you live in NSW and have undergone treatment at a clinic like Genea in another state you are still eligible.

WHEN CAN I CLAIM?

Claims can be made from 1st January 2023 and will be approved on a first in first served basis. The rebate can be used to cover the cost of eligible procedures undertaken from October 1, 2022.

HOW DO I CLAIM?

Keep your receipts for treatment from 1 October 2022 to claim through Service NSW. We suggest claiming as soon as you can from 1 January next year as it is only open to the first 12,000 eligible patients on a first come first served basis.

WHAT ELSE CAN WE TELL YOU…

While the government has not yet released complete details about the rebate, we can tell you:

  • Eligible patients can receive up to $2000 depending on the cost of their treatment
  • The rebate is not available to patients’ having treatment through bulk bill clinics
  • Extension of the scheme will be reassessed once the first 12,000 patients have claimed
  • It is likely the rebate will only apply to infertility related Medicare numbers
  • Private health fund and gap details are yet to be confirmed
