Genea Newcastle will be closed on Thursday 24th December 2026 and the clinic officially reopens on Monday 11th January 2027. Minimal staff will be working for essential services during this period.
Our cut off dates for treatment in 2026 are as follows:
- IVF cycles: FSH injections must be started by Thursday 26th November 2026 at latest. Please note this is subject to available space.
If you are on a long down-regulation cycle the last date to start the pill is Saturday 31st October 2026.
- Frozen Embryo Transfer (FET): LMP by Monday 23rd November 2026 (depending on your cycle length)
- Intrauterine Insemination (AIH or DI): LMP by Monday 30th November 2026 (depending on your cycle length)
Please be aware if your cycle ends up being long and treatment extends into our closing period, we will need to cancel your cycle.
For those ladies who need pregnancy tests or pregnancy monitoring over the Xmas break, we will be open for blood tests on the non-public holiday weekdays. Times to be confirmed.
Treatment in 2027
- IVF cycle – Antagonist cycle: Period from Thursday 31st December 2026 – FSH start from Saturday 2nd January 2027 (subject to availability).
- IVF cycle – Long down regulation cycle: Pill start from Wednesday 9th December 2026 – FSH start from Monday 4th January 2027 (subject to availability).
- Frozen Embryo Transfers (FET) : Must wait until LMP is (or later than): Saturday 2nd January 2027.
- Intrauterine Insemination (AIH or DI): Must wait until LMP is (or later than): Saturday 2nd January 2027.
